but yeah, everybody else there would think i’m a huge bitch because i, too, HATE small talk. and i think if we lived close to each other, we’d do too much craft shopping… =/

Totally relate to 3,4,6, and 9. I had a mean childhood friend and I think that’s where a lot of my insecurities stemmed from. And it’s taken me this long to throw a birthday party for myself for the same reason as you. But IDGAF anymore and I know the people who matter most will be there with me(I just want enough people to show up so I can play games! LoL). And I’m socially awkward around strangers, especially at parties because I still haven’t mastered the art of starting a conversation and don’t have the energy/interest in making small talk. And, yes, I too have a bad shopping habit when it comes to party/cooking/craft supplies. Don’t worry, though. Realizing and acknowledging our hang ups lead to facing them and hopefully getting over them (although I’m not sure if that applies to 9). Don’t be too scared of your 30s. It’s a beautiful place to be. I’m excited to see what your 30s have in store for you.

also, i don’t think you know the nemesis. she and i actually became friends when vox.com was all the rage, and i don’t really know anybody else who knows her, which would make the whole apologizing thing really awkward. it’s weird how close we can get to people online, even though we’ve never met each other in real life — i consider you guys real friends of mine even though we only know each other through blogging and Facebook!

I think it’s great that you’re brave enough to admit your shortcomings. None of us are perfect and admitting that you have issues or problems will only help you overcome them. I’m really curious about who this “nemesis” is. I know you’ve mentioned her once in awhile in your entries. Was it someone I know? Don’t worry, if you’re not comfortable answering that, I totally understand. I’ve had a falling out with a good online friend a couple years ago and I wonder about her from time to time.
